Turn of A New Leaf
Turn of A New Leaf is a work that was written during the Spring of 2023. I wanted to challenge myself to experiment with writing fragments of a melody/motif that can be played within a major or minor key/mode without losing its character. Throughout the work, it is a fight between major, minor, and simply open sounds that do not sound major or minor. Although this work stresses between all three forms of harmony and melody, the work ends in the major mode to give a sense of completion in the absence of a traditional cadence.
