Mysterioso

$20.00

Mysterioso is a commissioned work by Rayann Rowland (flute) and Lauren Talyor (trumpet) for flute and trumpet duet that brings the texture of the trumpet, the lyricism of the flugelhorn, and the technique of the flute. The piano not only adds accompaniment but is an important part to the composition. Through the motives, a melody pops out of the texture and the obscure chord progression lays down a chordal loop throughout the “slower” sections. In the faster sections, the flute and piano pass around the motif, and the trumpet plays the melody, while the piano plays a semblance of the chordal loop.
