Bright Shining Sea
Bright Shining Sea was written for Dr. James Brinkmann in the Spring of 2024 for the “Composer’s Read Concert” held at UT Tyler. I had plenty of mixed meter options and ideas, but did not want to go with the extremely rhythmic activity many mixed meter works have. instead, I went for a more playful and memorable melody and stays in major the vast majority of the time.
